During the COVID-19 pandemic, CBCAC partnered with the Chicago Connected Program to provide free high-speed internet access to CPS families.
This initiative highlighted the critical importance of internet connectivity for education and the quality of daily life. Through this work, we recognized the broader community’s pressing need for reliable internet access and essential digital skills under the Digital Divide.
As a result, we’ve expanded our efforts to bridge the digital divide by offering programs such as the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), digital literacy training, computer basics and Microsoft training, and 1:1 assistance. We aim to empower community members with the tools and knowledge to navigate the digital world confidently and even become qualified for higher-paying jobs, ensuring no one is left behind in the digital age.
